Robertson|Sherwood|Architects, in collaboration with SBRA in Boston, designed this new library in downtown Eugene.  Completed in December 2002 this $31 million library project not only replaces a functionally deficient and undersized structure but also contributes to the rejuvenation of the City core and establishes a precedent for future urban development.

The new building includes computer network access throughout all areas and a collection that has come to include videotapes, compact disks and other media in addition to the traditional books and magazines. A building for the 21st Century, the new Eugene Main Library is ready to satisfy the demands and meet the civic aspirations of a community that will mature in the Information Age.

The Springfield Public Library / Civic Center included a 23,650 s.f. library as part of a complete remodel of an existing shopping center into a Civic Center Complex.  The project received a design award from the Southwestern Oregon chapter of the American Institute of Architects in 1981.

The Dallas Library / Senior Center project presented the challenge of transforming an aging commercial structure originally constructed in 1925 as an automobile repair shop into a new 7500 s.f. public library facility that would be a source of pride for the entire community.  The design responded by providing the building with a new, civic-minded facade and completely renovating the interior spaces.
