A small community along the Columbia River, Boardman has a strong jobs base with the Port of Morrow, but has few amenities that draw families to live there. The idea of a community-based recreation center had long been a goal of the local leaders, and the passing of a tax levy through the local Parks District in 2015 made that dream a reality. RSA worked closely with the District Board and staff to identify the needs for the community in this new facility. The recreation center includes a two-court gym, large activity pool, climbing wall, group exercise spaces, and a long, winding outdoor fitness trail. Activity spaces are laid out in an efficient manner to allow a small staff to easily oversee all activites.
