University of Oregon Student Rec Center

university of oregon student recreation center

The project vision for the University of Oregon Student Recreation Center was to create a facility that meets the current needs and provides for future expansion as the university’s enrollment continues to grow. The new construction is a lasting, attractive, daylit, and energy efficient structure that serves the current and future campus community recreation needs. The facility targeted the UO Model of Sustainable Development (35% greater efficiency than the Oregon Energy Code requirements) and achieved LEED Platinum certification. The project intergrates art into architecture, funded by Oregon’s One Percent for Art in Public Places program. (RSA served as executive architects for the SRC, with RDG Planning & Design and Poticha Architects as design partners)
