Our principals, Becky Thomas and Lana Sadler, have direct involvement with each project to provide a level of personal service we feel our clients deserve.

We have maintained a constant flow of interesting commissions for many years, and our staff has likewise been very stable. This stability fosters a mature and capable team of individuals, 4 of whom are registered architects. Our experienced staff provide our principals with excellent technical and design support, and our clients with dedicated service. There is no substitute for experience.

BECKY THOMAS, aia

Becky joined RSA out of school in 2005 and brought with her an owner’s perspective after working for the University of Oregon’s Capital Construction department. Becky excels at building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams by fostering trust, open communication, and a clear understanding of project goals. Her curiosity for all things drives her in design and in life. When she's not in the office you will likely find her volunteering at her two boys’ schools or cheering them on at their baseball, basketball, or football games.

ELLIE JOHNSON, AIA

Ellie is an experienced architect with a proven track record of leading projects from concept through construction. She excels at translating client goals into creative, elegant solutions that align with real-world budget and schedule constraints. Comfortable in fast-paced, collaborative environments, Ellie brings both big-picture vision and technical rigor to every project. Passionate about serving Oregon’s local communities, she is dedicated to creating thoughtful, lasting designs that make a meaningful impact. Outside the office, you’ll find Ellie trying to keep up with her two young daughters—or escaping to the open road on her motorcycle.

VANESSA REID, LFA

Vanessa graduated cum laude from Oregon State University with degrees in Interior Design and Sustainability. As a Project Manager and Interiors Lead, she brings to Robertson Sherwood her experience in the interior design and construction industries, branding, graphic design, and an attention to efficiency in her design and workflow. As a Living Futures Associate (LFA), she uses a holistically sustainable approach to meet the needs of the client, the public, and the planet. You might spot Vanessa around town with her partner on their e-bikes, camping or hiking with her 5 children, playing her guitar, or hitting a new PR in the gym.

ALEXIS LAFEVER

Alexis graduated with an Associates in Applied Science: Drafting degree from Lane Community College. She has lived all over the country and moved to Oregon in 2017. Before that she lived in Austin, Texas in her teens – and she spent her childhood in Franklin, New Hampshire. From a young age she has been fascinated by how spaces can influence our perceptions, moods, and memories. She understands how environments can shape people and vice versa. Outside the office she can be found at home reading and drinking tea, or out sitting by the river enjoying nature. She loves singing, listening to electronic music, and intellectual conversations with her partner.

lana sadler, aia

Lana has over twenty years of experience from small remodels to large multi-phased complexes and everything in between. She honors the client’s goals from the start of the collaborative design process all the way to construction completion. Lana enjoys spending time with her family and the outdoor opportunities that the area provides.

JOHN WEBSTER, aia

John has over 30 years of experience working with architectural, structural, and mechanical design firms, including two years in construction building low-income housing with Habitat for Humanity. He creates thoughtful and practical solutions in a melting pot of creative and professional communication. He expands his understanding of the world through music, languages, food, and travel.

Meghna Jain, Assoc. aia

Raised in India and educated at the University of Oregon, Meghna is interested in how culture, daily routines, and local context shape the way people experience buildings. Before joining RSA, she spent three months in Rome studying streets and public spaces, at design offices in India, and with the City of Eugene’s Strategic Planning and Performance division on community initiatives, gaining experience across cities and climates. Well traveled and curious, she draws on her experience in these places when approaching projects. A former national level table tennis player, Meghna loves a good table tennis match, long walks, new coffee shops, and catching up with friends and family across time zones.

Sherry barrett, office manager

Sherry joined RSA 10 years ago and has over 15 years experience in office management. Her management skills, positive attitude, and team spirit keep RSA running smoothly. Outside of the office, Sherry enjoys camping and spending time outdoors with her husband and children.
